Last night I attended a networking function conducted by COSE's Home Based Business Network. Part of the evening was dedicated to roundtable discussions about referrals and networking. Then a representative of each table shared their top takeaways with the whole group.
One of the most interesting things I heard was to remember your FORM when speaking with someone. FORM stands for Family, Occupation, Recreation, Money. In other words, ask the other person questions that relate to those areas. That's how you get to know someone, and can learn pretty quickly about what their passions are.
This is something I will be incorporating into my networking skill set. How about you?
